Hey everyone!

We're less then $400 away from the next Stretch Goal unlock over at the Adagio Kickstarter campaign... who can jump on it and help us reach $25K? Who's with me!? :D

Although we have a bit of time left on the clock the earlier we get as many pledges as possible the longer we stay on top of the Comics category on Kickstarter helping us find more and more new backers. I'd really appreciate your support, my friends.

As outlined in my previous Update I am sending out all the BackerKit Surveys! It took a little longer for most Smoke Test backers to complete their surveys, probably because of the long weekend, but we're all good now =)

You can consider this the official start of the fulfillment of this exciting TFAC issue and what's probably the most important step since I need you all to do your part too.

All BACKERKIT SURVEYS HAVE BEEN SENT AND WILL BE LOCKED DOWN ON JUNE 17TH!!

And if you don't fill them out you won't receive any rewards included in your pledge tier - digital files too! Yep, it's that important.

I use BackerKit to tally up every single item we're sending to production and I also use BackerKit to distribute digital rewards, organize all the different shipments, print shipping reports to TCG so they can organize shipments and much more so if you don't provide your information on BackerKit you will NOT receive your rewards.

All of you, every single backer, should have received by now e-mails directly from BackerKit asking you to fill out the Surveys. They are easily accessible from the e-mails sent and pretty straightforward, all you gotta do is follow the steps and instructions. No sign in required.

I will lock down the surveys on June 17th in time to go to print and if you don't get them filled by then you do risk missing out on some of the most limited items. Please fill those sooner than later so I can put in the printing order as accurately as possible.

Also, if you miss the deadline above YOUR NAME WILL NOT BE IN THE THANK YOU PAGE. Last Kickstarter campaigns I had a number of backers ask me why their names weren't in there, well, that's why. 

If you haven't received your BackerKit Survey invite please follow these steps:

Keep an eye out on your Spam Folder and/or Junk Mail. E-mails will come either directly from BackerKit or myself (Felipe Cagno) and will say on the subject line Response Needed -- Get your rewards for The Few and Cursed #9.

If you don't spot them manually then try using the "Search" feature on your e-mail account page and look for either my name or BackerKit.

*IMPORTANT: Make sure you are checking the right e-mail account. It is the same e-mail you used to register an account on Kickstarter. 

Also, if your Kickstarter pledge was made under a "privaterelay.apple.id" email address, you will need to contact us with an alternate email address. This would be the case if you registered to Kickstarter on your iPhone letting the phone set up the account for you. 

Backerkit cannot send email or survey links to those addresses, so we will need an alternate to complete your pledge.

If none of the above works then click the link below, hit the "Lost your Survey?" and input your Kickstarter registered e-mail when prompted.

How to Upgrade or Switch your Pledge Level

On the very first screen backers will have the chance to upgrade or switch pledge levels. There is a little clickable "or switch your pledge level" just underneath the big green Get Started! button as pictured above.

If you would like to go for a higher tier the system will charge you the difference at the end of the process and if you pledged for one of the top tiers already but would like to spend the cash in a different way then the system will use the overpaid difference as extra credit to be used towards Add-ons.

THE ADD-ONS SHOPPING WINDOW

You will also be able to add a number of other graphic novels, cards, collectibles and more to your pledges.

That includes the original The Few and Cursed series in single Black & White issues or trade paperback format, the slipcase with original design, the spin-off anthology Chronicles of The Few and Cursed, TFAC: Shadow Nation. TFAC: Heart-Shaped Ambition, all our collectible cards and more.

Also available are all my other original comic books and graphic novels.

PLEASE NOTE: Credit cards are not charged immediately. They are only charged after the surveys lock on June 17th.

Shipping Issues, Missing Rewards or any other problems

Glitches might happen. I'm prone to mistakes so if you notice anything out of place do not hesitate to either leave a comment on this update, shoot me a message or e-mail me at [email protected]

We did a smoke test with a few of you and it seemingly went alright, nothing reported. Not that there's nothing wrong but at least nothing that stood out. If you have any problems filling out the surveys or adding items to your pledge I'm always here to help make this experience as smooth as possible.

And because credit cards aren't charged immediately you can just add items at your convenience, finalize the order and if there's anything wrong with pricing or shipping, anything out of place really, we can correct it before any charges go through.

I'm trying to cover any and all big questions in this one long update but obviously if there is still anything confusing do not hesitate to contact me. I might not answer right away but I usually get back to  everyone within 24 hours.

If you are a new The Few and Cursed fan there will be plenty for you to browse and add to your pledge, if  you are a returning backer this is the perfect opportunity to fill any gaps in your collection. Take your time, go through our stuff and always know I'm here to help.

This is it, I'm officially kicking off fulfillment for this campaign and step #1 is possibly the most important to ensure every backer gets their rewards.

BackerKit Surveys have been finalized and will be sent to ALL of you in the next few days pending a Smoke Test. I will get into more details past the ADAGIO plug ;)

BACKERKIT SURVEYS COMING UP - AND YES, THEY ARE MANDATORY!

Alright, this is probably the most important step in fulfilling everyone's pledges because I depend on you guys to do your part. I am using BackerKit to help me organize the logistics of shipping over a thousand packages and make sure everyone get the correct rewards they pledged towards.

BackerKit Surveys are absolutely mandatory and you will need to fill them out to be eligible to receive your rewards - both digital and physical.

If you fail to fill out your BackerKit Survey you risk forfeiting your pledge and the amount considered a donation towards the project. I keep getting people coming out of the woods two years after fulfillment was completed saying they never received their rewards and most times it's because they never filled out their BackerKit Surveys.

Please be on the lookout for emails coming this week from BackerKit - they will be sent to your Kickstarter registered email accounts and might end up in your Spam or Junk folder.

It's the only way I'm able to get accurate shipping addresses and pack lists. 

Also, if your Kickstarter pledge was made under a "privaterelay.apple.id" email address, you will need to contact us with an alternate email address. This would be the case if you registered to Kickstarter on your iPhone letting the phone set up the account for you.

Last but not least, I can't exactly say when the Surveys will be sent because we're currently going through a Smoke Test. 

The smoke test is a period where ~5% of the backers are randomly chosen to receive the surveys first in order to make sure everything is running smoothly or address any questions if needed.

Backerkit usually suggests waiting until 75% of those are complete, roughly 48 to 72hours, before sending the rest, so we expect the remaining surveys will go out to everyone sometime this week or next Monday (May 27th) at the latest.

If you are one of those 5%, please fill out your survey so that the smoke test isn't held up!

Everyone will get a second update this month as soon as BackerKit Surveys go out with instructions and all your biggest questions answered but if there's anything in the meantime do not hesitate to reach out either via comments, DM or an email to [email protected]

Alright, alright, alright...

Fabiano just wrapped up the art for The Few and Cursed #9 and we can finally move on to colors and lettering, the last stage before going into production \o/

And since the script for the next issue is done he's moving on already, we really want to improve our turnaround time and try to get these books out faster without dropping the quality.

It was a busy month for The Few and Cursed as I also hired the artists for all the extra pieces we will be using as part of the Kickstarter. The bookmark, back covers, pin-ups, there's a lot of new stuff exclusively commissioned that I couldn't be happier about and will reveal little by little.

First up is Rod's piece! ROD SAN is a fantastic artist and someone that's worked with The Few and Cursed before, he's done a few illustrations for the board game and his art is actually the cover of the art book of the game.

Here's a fantastic piece of art he delivered for Issue #9:

TFAC #9 PRODUCTION & FULFILLMENT CALENDAR

As I mentioned in last month's update, from now on you can expect to see our timeline in every update. These dates will shift as we progress through the production stages still remaining but they still should be a pretty good guide.

• April 30th: Last edits and touch ups on Inks, Fabiano and I will review the pages together.
• May: Inks, Colors & Lettering. Extras and book design finalized.
• May 20th: Pledge Manager surveys sent out to all backers (mandatory to fill them out!)
• June 5th: We go to print and digital rewards distributed!
• June-July: Books in transit from China
• July: Fulfillment starts! This should take about two weeks so hopefully by end of the month we're done

The idea is to finalize fulfillment, or at least get close enough before launching the campaign to fund the next chapter, The Few and Cursed #10, in the Summer but stay tuned for news ;)

Because before we get TFAC#10 under way, I have a new graphic novel coming up! This was published in Brazil, it won an award and it's finally time to adapt it to English for  international audiences.

You might want to sign up to be notified once ADAGIO hits Kickstarter on May 7th, that's about ten days from today. This is easily one of the best graphic novels I've ever written and produced and I cannot wait to share it with you...

Howdy fellers!

Before I get into the TFAC#9 good stuff please allow me to make an appeal to all of you. I'm at a point in my life and career (turning 40 on April 1st!!) that made me reflect on my goals, achievements and what I'd like to do next.

And that's a comeback to filmmaking.

You might not know this but I have a background in film, my entire education was on film production, I've done a few shorts and even wrote and directed a feature film that was bought by 20th Century Fox and is now a Disney property - A Bullet With No Name.

It's been a minute since I've been on a film set and it's time to go back, I need the experience to be able to tackle film adaptations of my work in comic books. That's right, I want to write and direct a Few and Cursed film and it starts here with you and the short film INKS.

HIS REPUTATION PRECEDES HIM...

I'm so excited to share that ALISTAIR FAIRWEATHER is joining TFAC: The Great Deluge storyline! I've been meaning to have him interact with the Redhead since I created him in Chronicles.

I just love writing this character, I had a blast with Alistair in Shadow Nation, he made a powerful debut in Chronicles and it was time to bring him to the front and center.

Trust me, this is someone you do NOT want to mess with:

Fabiano is currently wrapping up the pencils of the entire book and will be finished by late next week. From then on production should pick up speed as we're doing inks and colors next.

This has been such a fun book to work on and you can tell Fabiano has been having a blast with the art, each page is just mind-blowing. I don't want to share too much to avoid spoilers but trust me you're all in for a heck of a time \o/

As much as we're running a bit behind schedule don't worry we will get this out the door as fast as we can without putting the quality at risk.

I think we've advanced production enough that it's time to start sharing some dates with you all. Please keep in mind that these are estimates and we will do our best to keep them.

From this point on I will be sharing the calendar on every Update so you all know what's happening. 

• March 31st: Fabiano finishes up pencils.

• May 1st until the 14th: Extras and book design finalized. Pledge Manager surveys sent out to all backers (mandatory to fill them out!)
• May 15th: We go to print and digital rewards distributed!
• June: Books in transit from China
• July: Fulfillment completed!

The idea is to finalize fulfillment before launching the campaign to fund the next chapter, The Few and Cursed #10, in the Summer but more on that later as well ;)

I know this has nothing to do with The Few and Cursed #9 but I'm way too excited not to share these absolutely gorgeous colored pages Fabi just sent over.

Mind we still need to go through editorial but I love what she's envisioning for Hidden Away \o/

I hope you all get just as excited and decide to put in your pledge as we go into our very last couple of days on Kickstarter! The campaign ends THIS THURSDAY, March 7th, at 11:59pm est and if you're looking to grab all the extras unlocked... well, this is it, do or die time!
